I'm continuing with photos from California 2013, because why not? Editing and posting all these photos is making me miss California like hell though. Up till now I don't know for sure if it's because all our California trips have been free and easy which is why I enjoyed myself so much when I was there or if it's because I FUCKING LOVE CALI. This dilemma will only be solved when there is a next trip that is free and easy.
Either way, I miss it with every fiber of my being. My heart is yearning to be back there. I'm not kidding. When I hear songs that were played on the radio when I was there I'm hit with an intense pang of nostalgia and longing and it doesn't seem like its going away with time. Recently, I came across some Instagram profiles of Asian Americans and I get so jealous of them because they get to grow up and live in California lol it's ridiculous. I'm ridiculous.
Okay, anyway, what is real is that I am here lying in my bed in a 5-room HDB flat and not anywhere near any state of the US of A, so moving on.
After SF we made our way to the Yosemite National Park. We spent one and a half days in the park and on the first half, we drove through the park briefly to get to the motel. By the time we reached the sun was already down, so we checked in and left for the nearest McDonald's to get dinner. When you're cheap Asian tourists visiting USA, most of your meals are going to be fast food. No tipping!!! Ha ha.
It gets crazy dark at night on the roads over there because there are no streetlights at all, and tons of woods around. If you watch Teen Wolf you'll know what I mean. I was half expecting a werewolf to jump out in front of our headlights hahaha.
Yosemite was beautiful. The expanse of it all was just incredibly amazing. Pardon my French, and quite possibly my lacking vocabulary, but the place was just FUCKING HUGE. Like a serial killer could dump your body there and it would take the police forever just to locate your remains. Criminal Minds, anyone?
On the way to Yosemite. Can you spot the cars? That is how big and far away everything is.
Seriously. You could just stumble, fall and roll all the way down.
I'm not sure why I took this photo with a tree, but I cannot believe I was wearing flip flops while climbing up some rocks. What can I say, Danger is my middle name. Actually it's Michele. I am très hilarious. Not.
If you can actually spot the tiny little specks on this mountain, those are actually human beings attempting to climb it. Like I said, FUCKING HUGE.
Tiny man fishing in a big ass lake.
There is a line running across the stretch of the mountain, if you can see it. That is a road. Which we took to reach our motel. Once again with feeling, FUCKING HUGE.
Not a very good photo, but this was taken at a lake near the lodge we had breakfast at. There were a lot of people there fishing and doing other recreational activities. Lots of camper vans too! It made me think how fun it would've been to grow up there, or even to raise a family, because there's just so many things to do and places to go. Not a very good reason to want to raise a family in a country I suppose lol but every time I want to go out in Singapore I'm always scratching my head looking for things to do here.

CAN YOU SPOT THE DEER!!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW IT. I AM STILL EXCITED EVEN NOW. I couldn't get very close to it though, it would run away if I got too close.
More deers! We stopped by the road (as did another family) just to look at them lmao. It was great we stopped too, because I managed to find dandelions!!! I actually saw a lot of them while my dad was driving but he was always going too fast for me to stop and pick some up. And when we were finally going at a slower pace there just weren't any around!! Or they were really small. My dad even ventured up a cliff by the roadside to try and get one for me. I was all, omg please come down I don't really want it that badly please don't slip and fall and die. Just thinking about it makes me touched, aww. Nicest thing my dad ever did for me in the year 2013. Haha I'm kidding.....? Hahaha.
They're so cute. I made the mistake of letting one of the flowers hang out the window while we driving because I wanted to let the seeds disperse. It sounded like we were getting shot at with machine guns because of the wind and the speed we were going at. My dad was all, "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US." Because we were all shocked and it really did sound like someone was trying to kill us lmao. Ma bad.
That is all for Yosemite!! I think I'll probably upload the rest of the photos from the trip on this blog another time. It has been fun reliving the memories!
fuck. yosemite is gorgeous i want to go there fuck my life!!!!ahhhhh
